SESSION COMMITTEES AT GOOD SHEPHERD

CLERK OF SESSION

The Clerk records the transactions of the Session, keeps its rolls of membership and attendance, preserves its records carefully, and does the administrative work of the Session. Considered the leading lay person of the congregation.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE COMMITTEE

Visits and provides spiritual support to members of our church community who are unable to travel to church or who have become inactive. Welcomes visitors and encourages their participation in our church.

FACILITIES COMMITTEE

FLOCKS AND FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE

Provides the organization that supports the spiritual and social needs of members of our flocks. Creates and maintains flock lists and prayer chains to meet the spiritual needs of members of our church community.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Promotes financial stewardship to support our church ministries. Developes and maintains our budget, keeps our tax records, pays our expenses, and tracks our pledges and contributions.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Promotes the ministries of our church through internal and external advertising and communication efforts including the development and updating of the GSPC website. Maintains the Narthex as a welcoming area for all who enter our doors.

MISSION COMMITTEE

Sponsors and coordinates mission projects benefiting the local, national and international communities. Supports local men's and battered women's shelters, both locally and abroad. Operates and manages our own Good Shepherd Food Bank, which is located in Shepherd's Hall. The Food Bank serves over 300 needy community residents every month and is run entirely by volunteers.

WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEE

Works with the Pastor to create a meaningful worship service. Includes the order of service, worship themes, ushers and greeters, sanctuary decor, and all music.

There is a place for you on one of the many committees.

We would love to have you join us if you are interested in helping out on any of these committees.

If you would like to be a part of one of the committees, contact the church office and we will put you in contact with the Elder in charge of that area.

Thank You for your help and consideration.
